Training courses for Teachers
Objectives
The Kaiserschild Foundation’s training courses for teachers aim to provide participants from diverse backgrounds with subject-specific knowledge and teaching methodologies that they can apply in the classroom. The Foundation collaborates with universities and university colleges of teacher education (PHs) to deliver these courses. Registration is available via PH Online.
Teaching Modern Physics
This course gives lower secondary school teachers insights into the latest developments in scientific research and explores how these can be brought into the physics classroom. Research findings are combined with practical teaching approaches and subject-specific didactic methods. The focus is on developing and refining teaching materials, putting lesson plans into practice and sharing experiences with fellow teachers.

Fit In...
Physics is one of the subjects with the greatest shortage of teachers, and there is a particular lack of professionally trained physics teachers in secondary schools. Physics lessons are therefore often taught by teachers who are not specialists in the subject. The Fit in… series supports these teachers by equipping them with subject-specific and pedagogical expertise, enabling them to give their physics lessons an appropriate level of conceptual depth.
The aim is to convey essential fundamental ideas, basic subject-specific concepts and teaching methodology concepts, as well as to familiarise participants with empirically tested teaching materials. The content is deliberately presented in a straightforward manner, and many practical examples are discussed to help participants become more familiar with the respective topics and to enable them to teach these more confidently in lower secondary physics lessons.
Kaiserschild Talks
The Kaiserschild Talks are a nationwide online lecture series in Austria, focusing on practical topics in physics and physics education. They are aimed at teachers of all grade levels and anyone with an interest in contemporary physics education.
Starting in the 2026/27 school year, two online lectures will be held each semester.
